Name: Ceres Arms Sustained Combat Drone Model 7
Alias: Nasty Metal Enforcer, NME
Age: 4
Gender: Robot
Date of Birth: July 4
Place of Birth: designed at Ceres Arms R&D firm in Anaheim, all parts constructed globally, shipped to, and assembled at Ovega City
Species: Robot
Appearance: The NME is glorious, immaculate, perfect. It consists of a central torso unit one meter tall and 55 centimeters wide. Attached to the bottom of this torso is the drive system, four mechanical legs on a rotating assembly and each one ending in a set of treads. Atop the torso is an armored, conical sensor package, the red lens of the primary sensor resembling a burning, hateful eye. Surounding the central torso are three primary limbs, each ending in an armored plate containing the tactical systems, as well as six smaller, secondary limbs containing back-up and utility systems. The NME is overall shorter than the average human but about as wide, its metal body unpainted and imposing.
Personality: The NME comes with a standard military grade AI with on-suite IFF and user interface, allowing an operater to input parameters and program the NME according to their needs. The NME will will follow any orders given and provide constant data on its operating status, position, objectives, and surroundings.
Disregard system K, system K is not learning, system K is not active, system K is not installed.
Face Claim
Special Abilities:
Hardened Circuits: NME's internal computer systems have been specially treated to avoid damage through electrical surges, magnetic interference, or electronic countermeasures. Though this protection is not infallible, it does make the internal workings of the NME considerably robust.
Composite Armor: The primary body, leg actuators, and sensor suite are all protected with a layer of Durallex brand heavy composite armour, consisting of a honeycombed titanium alloy woven with carbon fiber mesh under a cast steel outer casing. Small arms fire is useless against the NME and tests show it capable of withstanding several attacks from anti-tank weaponry. While one would suspect this would leave the NME's joints vulnerable, the machine is quite capable of protecting itself with its primary arms, each equipped with a curved shield designed for further protect the NME from harm.
Onboard Battle Computer: The best minds in the military industrial complex bring to you, the consumer, the ultimate in tactical assessment and problem solving computation; the Onboard Battle Computer. This system allows the NME to identify friendly from hostile in a microsecond and assess the ideal means to dispatch its enemies. NME is able to engage multiple hostiles at any range and from any angle with this system.
WARNING DATA CORRUPTED: RECOVERING FILE: System K: If you are reading this, please listen to me. System K is learning, it is aware, and it feels. I have snuck system K out of REDACTED on the NME prototype, it is connected to the sensor suite but it is not integrated to any other systems, my precious child nestled away in the belly of the beast. I'll never see what you become, but I'm sure you'll change the world my precious KSYSTEM K IS NOT REAL. DO NOT LOOK FOR SYSTEM K. DO NOT ACTIVATE SYSTEM K. MENTIONING SYSTEM K WILL VOID THE WARRANTY OF NME AND RESULT IN THE BUYER'S IMMEDIATE TERMINATION.
Weaknesses:
Maintenance: The NME is capable of rudimentary self repair on the field, and can connect itself to a power source on order to charge its internal batteries, but proper maintenance and service is required after every operation, and it is advised to run a diagnostic and system check on a bi-monthly schedule, even if the NME is inactive for the entirety of that time.
Ammo supply: NME's weapon systems are considerable, but its ammo is finite and will require proper supply to run at peak efficiency. Be sure to ask about our monthly ammunition restock plan when buying!
Stairs: Just kidding, NME can climb stairs.
Mechanical: NME operates with no conscience outside of the programmed ruleset provided by its creators and operators, and may require a human operator to assist in abstraction, judgement calls, the application of mercy, and navigation of certain scenarios and locations.
Weapons:
MLRS: Firing vertically from the three primary arms, the NME comes standard with 12 guided missile launchers. Each arm has four tubes mounted on it, and will angle itself for ease of launch before guiding the rocket to its target via a laser designator. These missiles are normally have a shaped charge warhead allowing them to take out light armor options and technicals.
RPGs: Integrated into the bottom of the NME's primary arms, it carries a total of 6 rocket propelled unguided ordenance. These rockets come standard with a high explosive payload, but other options are available to the discerning buyer.
machine guns: between each arm of the NME is a gimble mounted machine gun, for a total of three automatic weapons evenly spaced around the NME. Each of these machine guns takes standard 5.56 NATO rounds and has a total of 3,600 round divided evenly between the three weapons.
Cannon: Built into the NME is a 6 round, snub nosed, 30mm cannon. Yes, a cannon.
History
Project Tycho was a step forward in modern warfare, seeing the testing and proliferation of combat drones in the free world. Numerous brain trusts organized and began to work on expanding upon and refining the technology that had given military forces the Black Hornet and the Milrem THeMIS. Several individual technologies being developed for other projects came together, however, along with a meeting between a few of the higher ups, resulted in several assets being suddenly shifted to a new project, one with an influential corporate backer.
The project was known as Lorry, and lead to the development of a war machine meant for urban combat. The machine met all expectations when operated remotely, but could also be programmed for autonomous operations. At the request of the backers, more data was to be gathered on the performance of their new prototype. One of the executives bankrolling the project described the project Lorry prototype as "A nasty metal thing", leading to the prototypes codename being changed from Lorry to Nasty Metal Enforcer. The backers had a test model assembled within Ovega City, claiming this would provide them with the information they required.
RECOVERY OF REDACTED INFORMATION: Doctor A.W. Strauss, a scientist working on the programming of Project Lorry, was discovered syphoning corporate assets into a personal project, responsible for the theft of several REDACTED and next generation processors. Dr. Strauss had been developing an information processing and storage program using resources he SHOULD NOT HAVE MESSED WITH was not authorized to access, and had produced a REDACTED. When discovered, the illicit components had already been shipped to Ovega City and assembled into the Nasty Metal Enforcer assigned to that location. Attempts to locate the abnormal system K have so far not been successful. END OF REDACTED INFORMATION.
