It was a beautiful day in the business district. It was a beautiful day in Ovega City. Ayen was atop a hill dressed in his usual camouflage shirt and hoodie as he took pictures of the city’s skyline and the sky itself. Creating a portfolio for himself and something for the newspaper to print when he got back to the Ovega Press. He wasn’t a reporter. Ayen wasn’t sure if he wanted to be one or not. Writing articles and what not, even as much as he liked writing. The one thing he did want to write about was video games. One of his true passions in life.
Life wasn’t easy for Ayen. Many people judged him and feared him for his powers. If his parents had it their way he would’ve kept his powers a secret, but Ayen didn’t feel good lying to people. He was who he was and people could either accept that or not. That was up to them and Ayen knew he couldn’t control how other people reacted. Only how he reacted to other people. He’s heard that from enough therapists back when they thought he was developing a mental illness to understand all of that.
Ovega City was a strange and mysterious town at times. With some of the people it attracted. Ayen sensed there was something more to the town than met the naked eye, but he couldn’t figure out what just yet. He wondered if it was really his responsibility to figure it out. He wanted to live a normal life despite the amazing abilities that existed within his fingertips. A life of playing and reviewing video games on YouTube and the likes, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was meant to do more. With his gifts he could help a lot of people, so shouldn’t he? It was a question Ayen was afraid to answer for he knew the sacrifice it meant if he said yes.
