Hello and welcome to Ovega City. Thank you for considering us for your role-playing needs. Below is a list of rules I expect everyone to abide to upon joining the forum. They are as followed:
1.) Respect!
I don't expect everyone to get along, but I do expect members to respect the forum and keep personal disputes private. If you cannot settle a dispute with another member then please contact a member of staff and we'll do our best to handle the situation.
2.) No Spamming!
Spamming means posting one liners, one word responses, or spamming your site link all over the board. Don't do it! The only exception to the first two are in the Forum Games section where post count is disabled. Also you can advertise your site in your profile and nowhere else.
3.) No Hotlinking!
Hotlinking is where you take an image and attach it to your avatar or signature with the default URL you found it at. Don't do it! Please upload your images through a free hosting site like Imgur, Image Shack, or Photobucket.
4.) No Godmodding!
Godmodding is where you have an all powerful character with no weaknesses or flaws. This is not how role playing works. Please give your character weaknesses and flaws to balance them out.
5.) No Powerplaying!
Powerplaying is where you perform an attack, say the attack hit, and how much damage it caused. This is another form of godmodding. Please give players the chance to dodge, block, or counter an attack you performed. Alternatively, don't dodge everything either as that can be seen as another form of godmodding.
6.) No Metagaming!
Metagaming is where you take information you learned out of character (OOC) and use it in character (IC) in the role-play. Don't do it! All information your character knows must be explained through IC means.
7.) No Graphic Details!
Because of ProBoards TOS we are stuck being a PG-13 rated site. You can still be violent, have sex, and what have you, but it has to be PG-13. Meaning you can't describe a scene in graphic detail. If you don't know how to do these things without being graphic then avoid it altogether or "fade to black."
8.) No Killing!
No killing off another member's character without their written consent. If a character is killed off they can always be brought back to life at a later date.
